Laundry Love

The Laundry room, unfortunately one of the places I feel like I spend the most! It's not the most enjoyable job, but if I had a crazy awesome laundry room, I think I wouldn't mind it as much. I gathered some inspiration for our future home, hoping I can have a functional, open and cute space to do the not so fun laundry.

Laundry Inspiration

Why I Love: I love the slight hit of patterned wallpaper with a soft colored cabinet finish. I am totally partial to this color scheme, lime, black and white were my wedding colors!

Why I love: I love the table idea over the washer and dryer. Keeping the legs adds an extra bit of character, nice to have a window to look out as well.

Why I love: This space is so cozy. I love the accent chair, you never know when you may want some company. I'm also loving all the storage space, seems functional.

Why I love: Please give me this space! I love all the windows and even the door! I definitely could enjoy laundry on a bright sunny day with the door open! The light alone would put me in a good mood.

Why I love: Again, we have a table over the washer and dryer. I also like the side storage with wicker baskets, seems charming.

These three pictures have awesome basket storage ideas. I love the first because the baskets can be hidden. I love the idea of an island in the second and in the third I love the idea of labeling between the whites, colors and darks.

For now I'll have to just be content with my current space, but one day I'll have that light and open laundry space! Be inspired and create!

Cute Clutch!

Lately my pinterest home page has been exploding with over sized clutches, so I decided to track down a few! Most of us probably have a large everyday bag that always seems to be full, so how can we expect a small clutch to accommodate our everyday needs? The answer is the adorable and functional over sized clutch. Here are some that get my approval!

After I rounded up a few fabulous clutches, I wanted to put together a cute summer outfit accessorizing with an over sized clutch. Here is what I came up.

For this outfit we have a large white ASOS clutch, a sleeveless dark grey button up top, light pink skinny jeans, sparkly sandals from Topshop and accents of yellow jewelry. Now it's your turn to find the right clutch just for you! Be inspired and create!

DIY: Table Tray

I'm so excited to share today's DIY! I've been looking for a table tray for a few months and hadn't had any luck, so I decided to take things into my own hands. It's a rather simple process and you are bound to love the end product. Lets see what you will need.

Supplies:
  • Wood table tray from Hobby Lobby
  • Your color choice of spray paint
  • One can of clear wood finish (optional)
  • Box knife
  • Your choice of patterned or solid paper: 2 pieces
  • 1 piece of plexiglass. Lowe's will cut if for you at a rate.
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Cutting mat
  • A level, or hard straight edge.
Getting Started

To start off your tray should already be smooth and sanded. Pick a nice little spot outside and paint your tray. Use as many coats as needed.

Once dry, top it off with your clear gloss. You may need a couple of coats. Keep your tray close by for the next few steps.

Next, if you are cutting the plexiglass yourself, place it on a flat surface.

Measure the inside of the tray, both horizontally and vertically.Be sure not to make it too snug, you will want to be able to remove the plexiglass in case you want to change out your paper.

Mark your measurements on the plexiglass. Use your level and box knife to score the plexiglass on both sides.

Once scored, use a solid edge to snap off the
un-needed edges.

Use the same measurements to cut your paper.

Place your paper in the tray.

Now add your plexiglass.

You now have a great, one of a kind table tray!

Your last step is to add your accessories!

If you get tired of the paper you chose, it's easy to swap it out in a few months! Hope you like it! Be inspired and create!
